It is used on the skin to treat wounds and bruises, reduce inflammation, help heal sprains, strains and broken bones, as well as support arthritis. Beta-caryophyllene, a major constituent of copaiba oil, has been shown to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, alleviate sore muscles and joints and heal infections due to its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
